Scott, 50, is charged with aggravated battery of a police officer, a Class 2 felony, as well as Class A misdemeanors of domestic battery and resisting an officer, according to the criminal complaint in the McHenry County court. That document states that at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a call reporting the battery of a juvenile at Scott’s home. When officers arrived and attempted to detain Scott, he allegedly broke from the officer’s grip and “struck [an officer’s] nose with the back of his fist while resisting arrest.”Police said Scott “knowingly tensed up, started pushing officers away and striking an officer in the nose with the back of his fist when officers were trying to detain [Scott].
